England´s John O'Donnell made for the only real surprise in the Austrian Open that ended earlier today. He managed to beat higher seed Rickard Persson in the semifinal and played an impressive game towards Magnus Eliasson in the final. Eliasson needed 9 points in the concluding squash(!) set to win the match and considering that O'Donnell has a background in professional squash many expected O'Donnell to be capable of threatening the World number one in total. But Eliasson won(!) the squash by an impressive 9-5! Nevertheless O'Donnell's result makes him the first English player on the World Top 10 list. In the Ladies' event Finland's Hanna Miestamo crushed all opposition and won the final against Katy Buchanan (Scotland) with a devastating margin of 57 points(!)
