Real Racketlon History is waiting to be written at the first British Open that will be held in London 12-13th of April. Stuart Foster reported earlier this week that around 30 players have already registered for the tournament. That is extremely good news almost a month before application deadline (31st of March). Experience shows that a majority of applications normally arrive during the last week, which means that racketletes who wait too long with their application risk missing the chance to take part. Draw space is limited.

A list of which players that have registered sofar can be found at the British Open Homepage. World Champion Magnus Eliasson is already on the list together with several other Swedish players and it looks as if this will be a truly international tournament. There are already five different nations on the list. In addition to Sweden and England Scotland, Austria and Belgium(!) (an unexpected Elite entry) are on the list. (Note that the list is updated only occasionaly - so if you have applied and do not see your name in the list that might be the reason why. Check the date!)

If English Open was a successful first British Open looks set to be a breakthrough for racketlon in England and no less than a feast for European racketlovers. Not to be missed! Book your tickets now while they are still cheap! Fares get more expensive by the minute and prices might be even ten times as high in a month. Below are some price examples from www.ryanair.com today. (If you are not Swedish note that Ryanair fly on many other places in Europe (see map) as well (not Finland though...). Go to www.ryanair.com and book your tickets on-line today. It takes about five minutes.

British Open is the second event on the IRF Racketlon World Tour 2003 and participants will get a position on the IRF Racketlon World Ranking. Check out the British Open entry under EVENTS on the www.racketlon.com startpage for more information such as time schedule and geographical information.
