The first Hungarian Open - that took place over the weekend in Pécs in southern Hungary, not far away from the Croatian border - attracted as many as 100 players from 9 different nations. Out of those 100 over 60 were native Hungarians, which seems to indicate that racketlon has already, during a very short time, gained an ethusiastic following in Hungary.

A full report, including full results, from the tournament is available through the website of the Austrian Racketlon Federation; www.racketlon.at (alternatively, use the direct link). Notable results are:

- a first round loss for Bulgarian talent Nikolay Angelov against Poland's Borys Leszek by a total score of -4 points (tt: 4-21, ba: 21-11, sq: 21-5, te: 7-21).
- the appearance of first class German badminton player Oliver Kudicke, who did very well against World Ranked 11, Austria's Christoph Krenn losing by only -3 (15-21, 21-3, 14-21, 13-21).
