Sweden's charismatic Racketlon World #1 Magnus Eliasson showed that he is now fully recovered from his foot injury that has bothered him since British Open in April when he convincingly won the Karlskrona Racket Virtuoso tournament last week. In the final he beat easily local star Ola Carleke (who can take comfort from the fact that his runner-up result advanced him from position 7 to 5 on the Swedish Ranking). Full results from the tournament can be found on the Karlskrona Racketlon Homepage.
Former Racketlon Swedish champion Pär Carleke has
organized the Racket Virtuoso tournament every year for over a
decade thereby creating one of Sweden's (and the World's) most
stable Racketlon strongholds in the small town of Karlskrona.
This year's event attracted 44 players. Read Carleke's round-up
below.

Since the start 1991, BLT's Racketvirtuosen has only
had four different winners (in the elite class), everyone won
three or more times. The fourth name winning three times is Magnus
Eliasson who had no problem winning this year.
Magnus lost tennis in the semifinal, 18-32, to tennis specialist Erik
Friberg and squash in the final, 15-35 to squash specialist Ola
Carleke. All the other sports was won quite easily and
Magnus was the indisputable winner and showed that his form now
is back after three racketlon competitions without any win.
In the class 1 Joachim Nilsson, Karlstad showed to be a
perfect racketlete, playing with great margin and being a very
fit runner. He had a real struggle against homeplayer Stig
Palkaj in the semifinal, 103-98, and then won quite easily
in the final against travelling companion Niclas Larsson,
Göteborg.
The most exciting final was played in the veterans class. Göran
Håkansson won against Kalevi Conrad 102-99 after
winning the four last balls!
The other winners were Martin Tidell, amateurs 1 and Andreas
Undhagen, amateurs 2.
2004's Racketvirtuosen will be played next summer, as usually the
week after midsummer, the last week of June.
