Puzant Kassabian, the strongman of Bulgarian Racketlon confirmed earlier this week that the venue of the Bulgarian Open has been change to Sofia. The dates (end of July/beginning of August) remain unchanged.

Bulgarian Open will be the fourth, and probably the most interesting event on the IRF RacketlonWorld Tour. Professor Kassabian is the President of the Bulgarian Badminton Federation, a member of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee and the very person who introduced the game of Badminton in Bulgaria several decades ago. He is also by far the most experienced of all tournament organizers on the racketlon tour, which should provide for a well-organized event that will not pass by unnoticed in Bulgaria (Kassabian has already indicated that Bulgarian Television will be invited). In addition, the timing of the tournament makes it ideal for racketletes that would like to combine it with some summer time travelling along the coast of the Black Sea or other types of exploring. Finally, this change of venue should have the advantage that it makes it easier to get to the event for international players - since Sofia is the capital and biggest city of Bulgaria and therefore equipped with the best communication connections.

Several of the players of the established racketlon community claim that they have already singled out Bulgarian Open as a tour event not to be missed. For more details on Bulgarian Open, look under EVENTS on the www.racketlon.com startpage.
