Below is the Gothenburg ranking list as of 2002-01-27. Eight people (bold in the list) have been admitted to the February TOP 8 event. The top 4 of these have been seeded. The positions of number 3-4 and 5-8 have been decided by the drawing of lots with the only condition that each player is guaranteed not to face the same opponent in the first round twice in a row. There are no qualification matches this time since there were only six applicants at application deadline.
