Below is the Gothenburg ranking list as of 2002-02-24. Eight people (bold in the list) were admitted to the February TOP 8 event. The top 4 of these have were seeded. The positions of number 3-4 and 5-8 were decided by the drawing of lots with the only condition that each player is guaranteed not to face the same opponent in the first round twice in a row. There are no qualification matches this time since there were only eight applicants at application deadline.
