The travelling:

Both Finnair and SAS have direct frequent flights from e.g. Gothenburg or Stockholm to Helsinki. If I don't lie much I'd say there are two-three planes to choose from - something like morning, midday and afternoon.

Coming from Helsinki-Vantaa airport to Lahti is really easy. There is a direct bus to Lahti which takes about an hour, and from Lahti bus station you only need to walk 300 metres to get to the Kisapuisto Racket hall where Finnish Open takes place. All the hotels are within about one kilometer from the bus station / racket hall.
