2) Rules

In general the official racketlon rules will be used with one single exception: In the main tournament all matches will be played to 15 instead of the normal 21. The reason for this is that all participants in the main tournament will be expected to play 4 matches more or less in sequence, which we consider would be too tough if the matches went to 21. The tip is also that the warming up time is kept to a minimum in order to save energy, since the schedule is still tough.

Matches should be interrupted as soon as they are decided - if there is a queue.

3) Prestige Factor

The Gothenburg Regional Championship has prestige factor 2 - meaning about twice as much weight in the Gothenburg Ranking System as the other TOP 8 events. There is no doubt that this is the most prestigious local Gothenburg tournament of the year. Earlier winners include the following legendary Racketlon names:

1999: Johan Stockenberg
2000:
Stefan Engström
2001:
Jens Wahlman
2002:
Håkan Granberg

A few notes:

- The format of the championships is according to the Monrad system meaning that everyone gets to play 4 matches (minus vacancies) and the outcome is a full ranking list.

- The draw was performed as follows:

Below is the latest Gothenburg ranking list. Twenty-four players (bold in the list) have applied for the Championships. 8 players have been seeded, whereby the ranking list has been followed except for players where it is obviously incorrect. Two such exceptions were made:

Staffan Ericsson, who became third in the 2002 Racketlon World Championships, was raised to be seeded number 1.

Patrik Andreasson, one of Gothenburg's most experienced Racketlon players was raised to be seeded number 8.

Seed 1 and 2 were placed. The positions of number 3-4 and 5-6 and 7-8 respectively were decided by three separate drawing of lots.

- The pages are readable with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or Netscape 6. We cannot guarantee that other browsers will work. We know for a fact that it will not work at all in Netscape 4! (The blunt advice to you who only get a text list of names instead of a standard graphically laid out match schedule when you click the links above is simply: Download a modern browser!)

- The draw is designed to fit into one A4 page. But you may need to adjust your print margins (File->Page Setup in Microsoft Internet Explorer)

- The matches have been numbered and in order to find out when a certain match is going to be played you need to consult the Timeplan.
