Below is a listing of Swedish events that took place during the
period January 2009 through May 2015. For Swedish events that took
place during the period November 2001 through 2008 see the main
Events section for international events (link above). As of 2009
Swedish events were listed separately in this "Swedish Events"
section. Together these two sections make up a complete listing
of all Swedish Racketlon ranking events that took place during the
period November 2001 through May 2015. Included in the list is also
a selection of more local tournaments (i.e. not ranking events)
that were either of a "Racketlon Breakthrough" nature
or for which there were no other appropriate local web site on which
to advertise.
The Racketlon.com Swedish Events section was not updated during
the period June 2015 through 2017. A record of Swedish ranking events
that took place during that period is however available in excel
base document for the Sweidsh rankings. See the Swedish
Rankings page.

A World ranking event. For Swedish
players, points for the Swedish ranking (prestige factor
1,5) also available. |

Last year, Lennart
Eklundh - the long time organiser of Swedish Open in Stockholm
- one of the most successful tournaments on the world
tour - handed over to his good friend Thomas Troedsson
in Malmö . And it seems it was not a temporary arrangement.
Malmö is here to stay. |
 |
Troedsson is the General Secretary
of the Swedish Squash Federation so this should be a good
opportunity for promoting
Racketlon within the squash community. He is also an experienced
events organiser, which - together with the fact that
Eklundh will support him - means that you can count on
a quality job! |
 |
It should also be a good opportunity
to connect to Denmark, Europe's most successful badminton
nation and remarkably invisible in the Racketlon context.
So far! Malmö (after Stockholm and Gothenburg Sweden's
third largest city) is, since year 2000, connected to
Danish capital Copenhagen by a bridge making it only 30
minutes away by train or car. The region is known as the
"Öresund Region" and is Scandinavia's biggest
and most densely populated city region with 3,5 million
people - many of them Danish badminton players(!) |
 |
The sport centre (Bellevuestadion)
is one of Sweden's largest racket centers with 10 badminton
courts, 8 squash courts and 9 indoor tennis courts (excluding
another 7 outdoors). And it can certainly be said that
it has been waiting for a big Racketlon tournament for
many years now. This might well be the start of a new
major Scandinavian Racketlon community! |

Formerly known as
"Racketlon Cup" this tournament has an annual
history stemming back to the early Nineties(!) In 2008
it moved from its traditional Stockholm location to Malmö,
so this will be the third Swedish Open on Malmö ground. |

Tournament director
Troedsson is the General Secretary of the Swedish Squash
Federation so this should be a good opportunity for
